Black History Knowledge Bowl and Poetry Slam
Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023

Teams from various middle schools completed for the title of 2023 Black History Knowledge Bowl Champions.  This year's champions were from McDougle Middle School. We experienced the poetic talents from some amazingly talented youth.

Community Wide CPR Training/Heart Health 
Feb. 4, 2023

We spent a Saturday afternoon learning life-saving tips (hands only CPR with mannequins ) and ways to incorporate heart healthy activities into our daily routine by also receiving salsa dance lessons!

MLK Jr. Day of Service | January 2023
 

Located in the Northside Community in Chapel Hill, members of the chapter participated in the kick off for the Habitat For Humanity Gattis Road project.  Plywood was cut and lifted. Nails were hammered. Floors were decked. It was an AKAcomplished way to spend the day providing service to our community.

In a second project, members of the Mu Omicron Omega (Chapel Hill) and Psi Gamma Omega (Psi Gamma Omega (Hillsborough) chapters collaborated on the Food and Warmth Drive for the Interfaith Council and Orange Congregations in Mission. 

Thanksgiving Baskets for the Community | Nov. 19, 2022

 

Annually the chapter members collect items to create Thanksgiving baskets to distribute to families within the local community.
